Chilli Types: Cayenne

The classic kitchen workhorse. Cayenne (Capsicum annuum) is perhaps the most familiar name in powdered chili. It provides a clean, neutral heat (30,000 – 50,000 SHU) that works in almost any culinary application, from seasoning blends and sauces to marinades and egg dishes. It provides straightforward heat without a complex flavour profile getting in the way.
