Chilli Types: Datil

A rare and flavourful gem from St. Augustine, Florida. The Datil pepper (Capsicum chinense) has a heat level similar to a Habanero (100,000 – 300,000 SHU) but a distinctively sweeter, fruitier flavour profile. It’s less sharp and more complex than its cousins, making it the star ingredient in the region’s signature sweet-heat hot sauces.
