Chilli Types: Fresno

The Jalapeño’s vibrant cousin. The Fresno pepper (Capsicum annuum) looks like a jalapeño but has a fruitier, smokier flavour and a slightly spicier kick, especially as it matures to a deep red (2,500 – 10,000 SHU). With thinner walls, it’s excellent for salsas, ceviche, and sauces where a brighter, hotter flavour is desired.
