Our Principle

We want you to love every delivery.

Because we sell food products, specific legal rules apply under German and EU consumer law. Below you will find a clear summary.

Statutory Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer within the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal pursuant to §§ 355, 312g BGB.

The withdrawal period begins on the day you (or a third party named by you) receive the goods, or in the case of subscription contracts, from the day the contract is concluded.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, send a clear statement to contact@republicofheat.com and include your order number.

Statutory Exceptions for Food Products

Sealed goods opened after delivery: pursuant to § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 3 BGB, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods which are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene if their seal has been removed after delivery. This applies to opened or unsealed sauces and other food items.

Perishable goods: pursuant to § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 2 BGB, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods which are liable to deteriorate rapidly or have a short expiration date.

  • Opened or tasted sauces cannot be returned.
  • Unopened, sealed products may be returned within 14 days.

Return Procedure & Refunds

If your withdrawal is valid, return the goods to the address provided in your confirmation email.

You bear the return shipping costs unless the item was defective or incorrectly delivered.

Refunds are issued within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice and are processed using the original payment method.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have provided proof of return.

Shipping costs are refunded only if the order was cancelled before dispatch or the mistake was ours.

Transport Damage & Breakages

If goods arrive damaged, notify us within 48 hours at contact@republicofheat.com and include photos of the outer packaging and the damaged item(s).

The risk of accidental loss during shipment to consumers remains with the seller until delivery. If damage occurred during transport, we will provide a replacement or refund.

We pack everything properly. Couriers sometimes disagree with gravity.

Lost Shipments

If your shipment appears lost, contact us as soon as possible at contact@republicofheat.com.

We will investigate with the carrier. If confirmed lost, we will arrange a replacement or refund.

Subscription Contracts

Withdrawal rights apply to subscription contracts within 14 days of conclusion.

However, once delivered food items are opened, the statutory hygiene exception applies.

Subscription changes must be made at least 5 days before dispatch.

Goodwill Policy

Beyond statutory requirements, we aim to handle genuine issues fairly. If something wasn't right, contact us at contact@republicofheat.com. We review cases individually.
